Wellington, New Zealand
Wellington is New Zealand’s capital city. It is, by population, the second largest urban area in the country. Lying along the Cook Strait, it is at the southernmost end of North Island. Te Whanga-nui-a-Tara is their name for the harbour, Poneke is transliteration for Port Nick, and Te Upoko-o-te-a-Maui is a traditional name referring to the demi-god Maui.
